Sapio Sciences expands laboratory informatics capabilities
/ in Product News

Laboratory software provider Sapio Sciences has announced significant updates to its informatics platform, enhancing functionality across chemistry, immunogenicity, GMP workflows and molecular biology. Release 24.12 introduces automated validation tools and refined chemistry representation capabilities, aimed at improving laboratory efficiency and data management.

Immunogenicity testing streamlined

The platform’s new immunogenicity (IgX) module, initially unveiled in October 2024, introduces automated workflows for validation and data analysis within the laboratory information management system (LIMS) and electronic laboratory notebook (ELN). The module focuses on simplifying control mapping whilst maintaining data integrity across complex immunogenicity testing procedures.

Enhanced chemistry management capabilities

Significant improvements to the chemistry module include advanced stereoisomer handling and enhanced substructure search functionality. The update allows for more precise stereochemistry representation and enables users to create multiple registries for various compound categories, including research compounds and chemical reagents.

Refined GMP workflow integration

The good manufacturing practice (GMP) module has undergone substantial refinement, particularly in monitoring and testing workflows. Environmental monitoring capabilities now accommodate a broader range of data types, including text, boolean and numeric values. The integration with the Integrated Data View (IDV) outside the ELN has reduced system load whilst improving material and instrument tracking.

Kevin Cramer, founder, CEO and CTO of Sapio Sciences, said: “Sapio’s mission is to accelerate discovery by simplifying the complexities of science, and the new capabilities in Release 24.12 demonstrate our commitment to delivering advanced yet intuitive functionality that empowers scientists to work faster and with greater confidence across complex workflows.”

Molecular biology tools expansion

The molecular biology capabilities have been enhanced with new features for batch cloning and combinatorial assembly, allowing researchers to track sequence derivatives and lineages. A new protein sequencer viewer supports direct import of InterProScan data, NCBI Protein Accession Numbers and UniProt IDs. The platform now enables simultaneous viewing of protein translations alongside DNA sequences, facilitating protein product analysis.
