Conventional total 25 OH Vitamin D assays by LC\/MS-MS or immunoassay can give misleading results in these physiological conditions because these assays utilize a sample pre-treatment step that destroys the VDBP. The DIAsource Free 25 OH Vitamin D ELISA provides a more accurate assessment of the bioactive FVD in the patient sample.
