lab4you: opportunity for young scientists

lab4you

Shimadzu, one of the world leaders in analytical instrumentation, is inviting young scientists from all over Europe for to apply for laboratory bench space for their own research work as part of the lab4you student program.

In the “Shimadzu Laboratory World” at the European headquarters in Duisburg, Germany, they have the opportunity to pursue their creative research approaches and use state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to produce results. The latest analytical equipment from HPLC/UHPLC, SFC and GC as well as mass spectrometry, MALDI, spectroscopy (UV, IR, FTIR, ICP) and materials testing technology are available on 1,500 square meters, ensuring the best analytical results.

The lab4you program is affiliated with the Shimadzu European Innovation Center. It brings together business and academia and works with universities across Europe to develop new analytics solutions for tomorrow, that is, new methods, instruments, techniques and software solutions.

Apply here

Interested scientists can apply by October 31, 2021 at www.shimadzu.eu/lab4you with a short abstract of their research work in English. Laboratory space will be available for the duration of the research project. Requirements for participation in the lab4you program are a degree in the natural sciences, an inspiring research topic and prior knowledge of analytical technology. The program is aimed at master’s and doctoral students as well as post-docs from all scientific fields in which analytical instrumentation or materials testing technology play a role. An internal jury will select the successful applicant.

Network-enabled remote sample management for your lab

Ziath DP5 Network

DP5 Network is the latest version of Ziath’s market leading 2D rack decoding web browser software designed to unchain scientists from their lab bench.

Using high-speed, web-based communications protocols – DP5 Network can be run from a laptop, desktop, phone, tablet or any other network connected device. This powerful new software enables full control of multiple tube barcode scanners on the same LAN to be operated from one or more devices connected to that LAN.

Using DP5 Network you can plug all your tube rack readers and scanners into the LAN directly and run them from a PC in your office or somewhere else in the building. This flexibility enables you to have your reader / scanner conveniently near the freezers or compound stores and the results on your desktop or phone.

DP5 Network is fast and secure – it allows you to export tube positions and barcodes in more formats than anyone else – JSON, XLS, CSV, Text, PDF, PNG and Python and then send the data in an email to a colleague or your desktop PC.

Upgrade to DP5
