Astoriom strengthens commercial leadership with senior sales appointment

Astoriom, a leading provider of R&D sample stability and biorepository storage services, has appointed Ryan Smith as Global Head of Sales in a strategic move to accelerate its commercial operations across key international markets. The appointment reflects the company’s commitment to scaling its portfolio of specialised storage solutions as pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations face increasing regulatory compliance demands.

Extensive life sciences experience drives appointment

Smith brings more than two decades of commercial leadership experience in the life sciences sector, with particular expertise in biorepository services and automated sample storage systems. His most recent role was leading the global sales team at Azenta Life Sciences, formerly Brooks Life Sciences, where he developed expertise in serving biopharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic research institutions.

Prior to his work in biorepository services, Smith focused on nanotechnology applications at Agilent/Keysight Technologies and RHK Technologies

Strategic timing amid market expansion

The appointment comes during a period of significant growth for Astoriom across North America and European markets. The company provides critical infrastructure for maintaining sample integrity through its stability storage, biorepository services, disaster protection and recovery solutions, alongside sample storage equipment and validation services.

“We’re committed to investing in world-class leadership to deliver exceptional service, innovation, and global scalability,” said Lori A. Ball, Chief Executive Officer of Astoriom. “Ryan’s appointment as Global Head of Sales marks a pivotal moment in Astoriom’s growth trajectory. He brings a deep understanding of the unique demands of R&D, regulatory compliance, and expanding biopharma operations.”
