Biotech Fluidics launches flat film in-line degasser for HPLC and process applications

Biotech Fluidics has introduced the DEGASi® Flat Film in-line degasser, a system that replaces conventional tubular membranes with specialised flat film technology to remove dissolved gases from liquid streams. The design is aimed at instrument developers, manufacturers, and clinical and research laboratories requiring reliable degassing across a broad range of solvents and flow conditions.

Improved efficiency and solvent compatibility

By utilising flat film rather than standard tubing, the degasser delivers superior degassing efficiency alongside improved compatibility with viscous fluids and organic solvents. The system’s chemically inert, metal-free flow path renders it biocompatible, and its PFAS content is reduced to one tenth of that found in conventional tubular degassers – a notable consideration for laboratories mindful of chemical sustainability and environmental compliance.

The increased degassing efficiency permits a higher vacuum set point for volatile solvents whilst minimising evaporation of mobile phase into the laboratory atmosphere.

Scalable configuration and acoustic performance

Up to six chambers may be connected in series to accommodate higher flow rates in HPLC and process applications without loss of degassing efficiency. The unit incorporates fifth generation StabiliX pumps, which deliver stable vacuum, a lower acoustic profile, and extended operational lifetime.

The DEGASi® Flat Film degasser is available as a stand-alone unit or as an OEM component.
