Calcium-Cresolphtalein reagent
Calcium in the sample (serum, plasma or urine) reacts with o-cresolphtalein complexone (o-CPC) forming a coloured complex that can be measured by spectrophotometry. BioSystems covers different calcium CPC presentation kits adjusted to different analysers as well as manual presentations which include an aqueous primary standard. Despite this, it is recommended to calibrate using a biochemistry calibrator, bovine-(18011) or human-(18044) based. The calcium concentration values for all serum reference materials provided for this new method are the same as for the MTB method.
