D-Dimer FS – first line assay to diagnose exclusion of thrombotic events
Thrombosis is the process of blood clot formation in blood vessels causing life-threatening venous thromboembolic events (VTE) like a pulmonary embolism (PE).
The risk of such an event can be lowered by conducting a thromboembolism risk assessment, which in case of VTE diseases does not focus on detecting a thrombotic event rather than excluding it. The actual first-line test to rule out suspected VTE is a D-dimer assay.
With the D-Dimer FS DiaSys provides a ready-to-use particle enhanced immunoturbidimetric assay that is to be used on all clinical chemistry analyzers. The assay achieves high precision at the cut-off 0.5 µg FEU/ml for venous thromboembolism diseases. The excellent sensitivity provides lifesaving emergency diagnostic whereas superior specificity guarantees cost saving detection. Both highlight the value of DiaSys D Dimer FS to perform reliable VTE exclusion diagnostic.
