German life science instrumentation company Eppendorf has commercially launched its Research 3 neo mechanical pipettes, designed to deliver improved accuracy and ergonomic performance for laboratory applications. Following successful regional deployment across Asia in August, the pipettes are now available in EMEA and Americas markets.

Enhanced volume control and adaptability features

The Research 3 neo incorporates dual volume settings that enable rapid switching between coarse and fine volume adjustments, coupled with an integrated volume lock mechanism to prevent unintentional parameter changes during operation. The system accommodates various liquid types, tip geometries, and reverse pipetting techniques without requiring recalibration, whilst maintaining performance across different altitude conditions.

The pipette utilises ColorTag changeable marking rings, providing reversible labelling solutions to enhance laboratory workflow versatility. Performance testing demonstrates consistent results beyond ISO 8655 specifications when used with epT.I.P.S. pipette tips.

Ergonomic design and sustainability focus

Engineered with lightweight construction and optimised force requirements, the Research 3 neo features reduced tip attachment and ejection forces to minimise user fatigue during extended pipetting procedures. The instrument’s ergonomic profile supports efficient laboratory operations through careful weight distribution and customisable accessories.

Manufacturing occurs in an ISO 14001-certified facility utilising renewable energy sources, reflecting the company’s environmental commitments. The pipettes arrive in recycled and recyclable packaging, with compatibility for BioBased pipette tips manufactured from 100% biobased polypropylene using mass-balance methodology.
