Greiner Bio-One achieves good results with sustainability assessment
Greiner Bio-One had its sustainability efforts evaluated for the first time for the entire Group through the EcoVadis platform and was awarded the silver medal for its commitment. The Greiner Bio-One Group achieved 60 out of 100 points. With this overall rating, the company group ranks among the top 20% of all companies evaluated. Greiner Bio-One ranks among the top 8% in its own industry – production of medical and dental equipment and materials.
“We are delighted with this great assessment of our commitment. We are proud of what we have achieved so far. At the same time, we are looking ahead. Our motivation is to align our actions with sustainability principles and continuously improve them – this is not a sprint but rather a marathon,” commented Rainer Perneker, CEO of Greiner Bio-One International.
A “Sustainability Scorecard” summarises the key findings from the evaluation. The evaluation is based on 21 indicators in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
In 2021, the Frickenhausen site participated in the sustainability rating for the first time and as an individual site and even received the gold medal for its services. In 2022, the focus was on the entire Greiner Bio-One Group. Given the considerably larger scope of the assessment, the silver medal is also
an extremely satisfactory result.
“Sustainability is an integral part of the values we promise our customers. However, our responsibility goes beyond our customers and products. As a globally active company, we aim to make an essential contribution to a future worth living in,” Perneker said.
The rating obtained not only honours the performance achieved but also shows the company potential for improvement. Greiner Bio-One sees its task as dealing specifically with the results and learning from them in order to further advance its sustainability activities.
