Trimers urinary Cystatin C

TRIMERO Diagnostics offers IVD CE urinary Cystatin C particle-enhanced immunoassays

Trimers urinary Cystatin C

TRIMERO Diagnostics offers IVD CE urinary Cystatin C particle-enhanced immunoassays for Beckman Coulter’s IMMAGE series nephelometers and for the most popular clinical chemistry analyzers on the market.

As for other low molecular weight proteins, measurement of Cystatin C levels in urine may be a sensitive marker of tubular dysfunction, resulting from any cause or pathology (transplants, diabetes, poisoning, etc.), and according to some studies, Cystatin C shows some advantages compared to other proteins due to its stability and constant production rate.

In order to ensure lot-to-lot traceability, assays have been standardized to the European Reference Material for the Cystatin C (code: ERM-DA471/IFCC), of the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM).

Other assays for nephelometry and turbidimetry available from TRIMERO include:

  • KLoneus Free Light Chains (FLC) for serum and urine
  • Serum Amyloid A (SAA), Soluble Transferrin Receptor (sTfR)
  • Retinol Binding Protein (RBP) for serum and urine
  • IgD Immunoglobulins (IgD)
  • Hemopexin
  • Alpha-1 Microglobulin
  • Beta-2 Microglobulin for serum and urine
  • Kappa and Lambda Light Chains for serum and urine
  • Complement C1q
  • Complement C5
  • Factor B (C3 Proactivator)
  • C1 (Esterase) Inhibitor.

sysmex-Cn3000-cn6000 hemostasis systems

Siemens Healthineers is launching to laboratories Sysmex’s CN-3000 and CN-6000 Hemostasis Systems for mid- and high-volume coagulation testing. The company offers a broad menu of both routine and specialty coagulation assays that help identify blood coagulation disorders that can be performed on the Sysmex CN-3000 and CN-6000 Systems. This includes the new Siemens Healthineers’s INNOVANCE Anti-Xa assay for heparin and direct oral anticoagulant testing (DOAC).

“Siemens Healthineers and Sysmex’s 25-year partnership in hemostasis enables us to deliver both quality and comprehensive hemostasis testing solutions to laboratories of all sizes across the world,” said Deepak Nath, PhD, President of Laboratory Diagnostics for Siemens Healthineers.

INNOVANCE Anti-Xa assay

Siemens Healthineers’s new INNOVANCE Anti-Xa assay is a ready-to-use, liquid-reagent heparin and DOAC assay. It delivers precise results without reagent reconstitution or waiting before use. The assay streamlines handling, reduces ordering complexity by enabling labs to test for heparin, as well as direct oral anticoagulants rivaroxaban and apixaban with one combined assay, and offers labs an economical testing solution for heparin and DOAC testing.

Atellica Process Manager

The Sysmex CN-3000 and CN-6000 Systems are designed to integrate with the Siemens Healthineers Atellica Data Manager and Aptio Automation to further streamline a hands-free workflow in the laboratory and to automate sample processing – including sample preparation as well as storage, refrigeration, and retrieval. With the ability to connect to Atellica Process Manager, labs can manage testing processes from a centralized location, while also gaining access to analytics to baseline and track key performance indicators such as turnaround time or problem samples. CytoSMART Lux3 BR

CytoSMART introduces Lux3 BR brightfield live-cell imaging microscope with 6.4 MP CMOS camera

CytoSMART Lux3 BR

CytoSMART Technologies has launched their new brightfield live-cell imaging system – the CytoSMART Lux3 BR. The small brightfield microscope is equipped with a high-quality 6.4 MP CMOS camera.

Like other CytoSMART microscopes, this new live-cell imager is designed to work inside a standard cell culture incubator without disturbing temperature, airflow, and optimum culture conditions for the cells. This allows researchers to perform long-term live-cell imaging experiments, ensuring optimal cell growth and health.

Very detailed brightfield images can be captured using the new device. With 2072 pixel resolution in both x- and y-axes, combined with 1.45 mm field of view, the microscope provides a resolution of 0.7 µm/pixel. Even at the commonly required image resolution of 300 dpi for printed publications, these images can fill the entire page without compromising image quality.

Jan-Willem van Bree, CTO at CytoSMART Technologies, commented: “We are very excited to expand our label-free microscopy solutions for live-cell studies. For cell biologists who want to incorporate live-cell imaging into their workflow, the resolution of live-cell imaging microscopes may be too low for accurately quantifying complex read-outs, such as cell tracking or differentiation processes. This causes inaccurate and variable results that compromise the research output. Unlike the high-end microscopes with incubation box, the Lux3 BR ensures that cultures are not exposed to temperature, humidity, or CO2 fluctuations that can stress the cells, as the device easily fits in every CO2-incubator. It is a powerful addition to each research lab.”

The CytoSMART Lux3 BR setup can be easily expanded to two or even four devices that can be operated and controlled individually via a single laptop. Since both Lux3 BR Duo Kit and Multi Lux3 BR devices can be placed directly next to each other in the same incubator, it allows for systematic comparison of control and treated samples, as all monitored cell cultures are maintained in an identical culture environment.

The main features and benefits of the CytoSMART Lux3 BR include:

  • High-quality images and time-lapse movies to investigate the development of cellular processes
  • Incubator- and laboratory-friendly due to its compact size and open design
  • Remote data access via the CytoSMART Cloud with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop outside the lab
  • Flexibility to expand a single live-cell imaging system to Duo and Multi Kits
