Torrey Pines Scientific launches corrosion resistant hot plates
Torrey Pines Scientific, Inc. has announced a new range of corrosion resistant multi-position stirring analog hot plates and stirrers designed for acid digestions and handling corrosive solutions in laboratory settings.
Multi-position stirring capabilities
The units feature either 5 or 9 individually controlled stirring positions. The 5-position models can stir five 800ml beakers (HS15C), whilst the 9-position variants accommodate nine 400ml beakers (HS19C) of corrosive aqueous solutions at speeds ranging from 100 to 1500 rpm.
Temperature control and safety features
Each unit incorporates a large 12-inch (305 mm) square ceramic heater top with a temperature range up to 450°C. A rear purge port allows for positive pressure purging with inert gas, and sealed chassis openings protect internal electronics and stirrer motors from corrosive vapours. The hot plates measure 19 inches (432 mm) deep by 12.5 inches (318 mm) wide by 5.25 inches (134 mm) tall, supporting loads exceeding 50 pounds (22.6 kg). Controls are positioned forward of the heater surface to minimise burn risks.
Global availability
The units are available in 115VAC/60Hz, 220VAC/60Hz, and 230VAC/50Hz configurations and carry ETL, CSA and CE ratings.
