Secretoneurin ELISA
Secretoneurin ELISA | CardiNor presents the fi rst CE-marked, clinically documented ELISA for measurement of secretoneurin in serum and plasma.
Secretoneurin (SN) is associated with biological processes linked to heart cell calcium, a key mechanism in the regulation of heart rhythm. This unique biological function may explain why SN has been shown to be an independent and strong predictor of mortality in all major patient cohorts tested, including patients with stable heart disease (those with implanted ICD), ventricular arrhythmia, acute heart failure, acute respiratory failure patients with CVD and severe sepsis. Secretoneurin, by predicting arrhythmia risk, could complement existing cardiovascular biomarkers of myocardial injury such as cardiac troponins and biomarkers of cardiac stress (BNP and NT-proBNP), which are both strong predictors of heart failure development. The CardiNor Secretoneurin ELISA Assay has shown excellent performance with a sensitivity of 7.6 pmol/L, linearity of 11.8 to 299.2 pmol/L and repeatability of 2.7 – 4.6 % CV. The abstract ”Investigating potential biotin interference in a streptavidin-biotin based Secretoneurin ELISA” by CardiNor has been accepted for poster presentation at the World-Lab EuroMedLab Congress in Rome 21-25 May 2023.
