Torrey Pines Scientific launches programmable hot plate for laboratory applications

Torrey Pines Scientific has launched its new EchoTherm™ Model HP61A Programmable Hot Plate featuring a precision-milled 12” x 12” cast aluminium heater top. This laboratory instrument offers precise temperature control for various scientific applications, including wafer processing, polymer engineering and micro fabrication techniques.

Technical specifications

The HP61A delivers temperature control from ambient to 450°C with ±1°C precision, using a platinum RTD sensor embedded in the heater surface. The unit maintains temperature accuracy within 1% of the target reading and comes with NIST-traceable calibration certification.

Advanced programming capabilities

Laboratory scientists can program the device through its membrane switch interface and LCD display. The system stores ten programs with up to ten steps each, where each step can specify temperature, ramp rate and duration. Programs can automatically repeat from 1 to 99 cycles or continuously if required.

Temperature ramping and connectivity

Temperature ramping rates can be set in 1°C/hour increments from 1°C/hour to 450°C/hour, providing precise control for temperature-sensitive protocols. The instrument includes a countdown timer with user-configurable auto-off function and RS232 connectivity for computer control or data logging applications.

Regulatory compliance

The HP61A is available in both 115V and 230V configurations for global laboratory environments. The product carries ETL, CSA and CE compliance certifications and comes with a 12-month warranty.
