Diatron unveils P780 flagship clinical chemistry analyser targeting high-throughput laboratories

Hungarian diagnostics manufacturer Diatron has launched its new P780 clinical chemistry analyzer, positioning the system as a comprehensive solution for medium to large laboratories demanding high-throughput performance without compromising cost-effectiveness.

Enhanced throughput capabilities drive laboratory efficiency

The P780 represents a significant advancement in clinical chemistry automation, engineered to deliver “maximum throughput” through uninterrupted photometric testing capabilities and an independent ion-selective electrode (ISE) arm. This dual-pathway architecture enables “continuous operation under demanding workloads, ensuring fast turnaround times without compromising accuracy,” according to the company.

The system incorporates a dual concentric reagent tray featuring cooled positions for calibrators and controls, complemented by an optional Auto Filling Draining Module designed to enable “nonstop operation” whilst reducing manual intervention requirements.

Integrated design optimises laboratory workflow

A particularly notable feature is the built-in panel PC with touchscreen interface, strategically implemented to “minimise the instrument’s footprint” whilst streamlining daily operations. The advanced software platform delivers comprehensive dash-board functionality with real-time work-list monitoring and flexible workflow management tools designed to simplify routine laboratory procedures.

Pictus family integration ensures operational consistency

The P780 extends Diatron’s established Pictus product portfolio, offering full integration across workflows, methods, reagents, consumables, calibrators, and controls. Building upon the proven performance foundation of the Pictus 500, which has established reliability benchmarks in clinical chemistry, the P780 combines high throughput capabilities with reduced operational expenditure.

Cost-effectiveness through innovative engineering

The system achieves “exceptionally low operating costs” through the implementation of long-life cuvettes combined with minimal water and consumables consumption. This engineering approach positions the P780 as particularly suitable for laboratories conducting extensive
clinical chemistry testing programmes.

The P780 will be demonstrated at Medical Fair Thailand in Bangkok from 10-12 September at booth #Z31, providing clinical professionals with hands-on evaluation opportunities.
