Biotech Fluidics has announced the launch of the mikron 91, a robust inline pH probe engineered for analytical and preparative chromatography applications. The compact flow-through sensor addresses critical monitoring requirements in continuous bioprocessing environments whilst maintaining exceptional accuracy and temperature compensation capabilities.
Engineered for high-throughput applications
The mikron 91’s innovative design accommodates flow rates up to 1,000 ml/min without exceeding 1 bar (14.5 psi) back pressure, making it particularly suitable for demanding laboratory and industrial applications.
“This robust flow-through sensor delivers accurate, temperature-compensated pH measurements of liquids flowing through either of its two flow cell design options,” according to the company. The device’s compact footprint – measuring just 32 mm (1.25”) in diameter and 115 mm (4.5”) in length – enables integration into space-constrained analytical systems. “The mikron 91 can be installed in almost any application” due to these dimensional advantages.
Advanced electrode technology and biocompatibility
At the core of the mikron 91 lies a fully temperature-compensated pH meter incorporating a long-life ISFET measuring electrode paired with either KCl or Ag/AgCl reference electrodes. The measuring cell maintains full biocompatibility and carries certification for USP Class VI cleanroom environments, meeting stringent pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry standards.
Predictive maintenance capabilities
The system incorporates sophisticated data logging functionality that enhances operational efficiency. “The mikron 91 not only stores calibration data and the operating time for the measuring and reference electrodes, but also the time exposure for each pH range,” enabling predictive maintenance protocols that minimise operational downtime.
The device features USB-C connectivity for both communication and power supply, with driver support for major chromatography software packages. The product conforms to international standards and carries CE marking.
