diaago teams up with Peak Analysis & Automation to expand laboratory automation access

diaago has announced a strategic partnership with Peak Analysis & Automation (PAA) to enhance laboratory automation capabilities. The collaboration combines PAA’s decades of robotics expertise with diaago’s distribution network, offering research laboratories flexible automation solutions including the KX-2 Collaborative Robot for streamlined workflows and improved throughput.

The partnership, announced on 9 September 2025, positions diaago as a distributor for PAA’s comprehensive automation portfolio, which includes The Smart Cart, Overlord™ software, S-CEL workcells, and S-LAB™ plate handlers. This strategic alliance addresses the growing demand for versatile laboratory automation solutions across global research facilities.

KX-2 robot offers enhanced laboratory integration capabilities

Central to the partnership is the immediate availability of PAA’s KX-2 Collaborative Robot through diaago’s distribution network. The system features continuous 360° rotation, multi-link arm design, and optional linear rail functionality, providing exceptional reach and instrument access within laboratory environments.

The robot’s fully enclosed design ensures operator safety and facilitates decontamination procedures, making it suitable for BSL-2 environments. Programming simplicity is achieved through drag-to-teach functionality, eliminating complex coding requirements and reducing implementation barriers for laboratory personnel.

Partnership combines technical expertise with accessibility focus

“This partnership between Peak Analysis and Automation and diaago brings together two driven and solutions-oriented organisations to leverage scientific expertise and streamlined solutions for the benefit of the research community,” said Jackson Hyde, CEO of diaago. The collaboration emphasises flexible, thoughtful laboratory automation whilst maintaining focus on practical implementation.

Dr Helen Bennett, PAA Senior Medical Science Liaison, highlighted the partnership’s strategic value: “We are confident that the KX2 robot, delivered through diaago, will unlock new value for a wide range of laboratories by making fully automated solutions more accessible and impactful.”

Comprehensive workflow integration capabilities

The KX-2 robot demonstrates compatibility with diaago’s existing automation portfolio, including SPL Guard Arizona and Florida thawing stations, AFYS3G Sigma recapper series, Micronic CS700 screw cap recapper, and Micronic DR rack readers. This integration capability enables laboratories to develop connected, end-to-end workflows using trusted equipment platforms.

PAA’s automation solutions can be combined with diaago’s consumables portfolio, including AFYS3G Sigma recappers, Micronic tube handlers, and SPL Guard thawing stations, creating customisable workflows tailored to specific laboratory requirements.
