Torrey Pines Scientific launches programmable stirring hot plate for laboratory reaction control
Torrey Pines Scientific has introduced the EchoTherm™ Programmable Digital Stirring Hot Plate Model HS40, designed to deliver precise temperature control and reproducible chemical reactions for clinical and research laboratories.
Enhanced programming capabilities for complex protocols
The device features comprehensive programming functionality through its front panel membrane switch and liquid crystal display. “The unit can store 10 programs in memory of as many as 10 steps each where each step is a temperature, temperature ramp rate, stirring speed and time,” according to the manufacturer. Each program supports automatic repetition from 1 to 98 cycles or continuous operation.
Technical specifications meet demanding laboratory requirements
The 8-inch ceramic glass heating plate achieves temperatures from ambient to 450°C within three minutes, offering chemical resistance and rapid thermal response. Temperature control accuracy reaches 1% of reading using platinum RTD circuitry, with direct control to within 1°C of target values.
Operational features support diverse applications
Stirring speeds range from 100 to 1500 rpm with optical coupling control to 10 rpm precision. Standard features include countdown timer with alarm, user-settable auto-off function, and RS232 I/O port compatibility.
The Model HS40 carries ETL, CSA, and CE certifications and is available in 100, 115, and 230 VAC configurations.
