Agilent unveils Dako Omnis 165 Duo automated staining platform
At ECP 2025 in Vienna, Agilent Technologies demonstrated its latest automated staining platform designed to enhance laboratory efficiency whilst managing increasing test volumes and diagnostic complexity.
New instrument family targets workflow optimisation
The Dako Omnis 165 Duo represents the newest addition to Agilent’s Dako Omnis Family, a comprehensive suite of instruments engineered to help pathology laboratories “achieve more with less by managing growing test volumes and complexity with greater efficiency.”
Beyond equipment demonstrations, the company’s exhibition featured an educational corner providing hands-on PD-L1 scoring training alongside displays of digital pathology solutions. Structured “Meet the Expert” sessions delivered practical guidance on staining quality and workflow enhancement.
Expert insights on laboratory productivity
Agilent specialists, including Esben Pedersen, PhD, Senior Global Product Manager IHC and ISH reagents, and Peter Vermaire, Team Leader EMEA Workflow Specialists, presented updates covering staining protocols, quality standards, and case studies demonstrating improved productivity metrics.
The presentations highlighted how laboratories can achieve enhanced turnaround times using fewer instruments, whilst reducing manual handling requirements and delivering more reproducible staining results.
Enhanced diagnostic confidence through automation
The technological developments showcased at ECP demonstrate how modern instrumentation supports pathologists in making diagnoses “with greater speed and precision,” addressing the growing demands placed on contemporary pathology services.
