ENPICOM platform selected by Evolved Therapeutics to accelerate antibody discovery

ENPICOM, a ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands-based bioinformatics and AI company focused on biologics discovery and development, has been selected by Evolved Therapeutics to support data analysis across the biotechnology company’s antibody discovery programmes. The agreement covers next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis and clone selection, two stages of the discovery process that typically demand substantial bioinformatics resource.

Evolved Therapeutics develops therapeutic antibody candidates using a patented, ultra-high-throughput, function-first discovery method designed to identify rare monospecific, bispecific and multispecific antibodies with distinct functional profiles. The company is building its capability to address a range of diseases and unmet patient needs, an ambition that depends on digital infrastructure able to match its experimental throughput.

Addressing a data-handling bottleneck

Function-first discovery, particularly when combined with NGS, produces substantial volumes of sequencing data that must be processed, clustered and analysed before candidates can progress to follow-up assays. This stage of the workflow commonly relies on custom analysis pipelines and dedicated bioinformatics support, adding weeks to individual campaigns and occupying scientific staff time on pipeline configuration, format reconciliation and ad hoc data requests. Smaller organisations in particular may need to maintain bioinformatics headcount that would otherwise be directed toward experimental science.

Platform capabilities

The ENPICOM Platform integrates sequence and experimental assay data within a single environment, supporting clustering, phylogenetic and enrichment analyses, and annotation of liabilities exposed on candidate antibodies. Built-in interactive visualisation tools are intended to allow scientists to conduct these analyses directly, without routing requests through separate bio-informatics teams or writing code.
