Revvity, Inc. has launched the SuperFlex™ prenatal screening system, a compact, CE-IVDR certified immunoassay instrument designed for laboratories and clinics operating lower-volume workflows. The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said the platform is intended to bring reliable, rapid screening capability to facilities that have historically lacked access to centralised, high-throughput testing.

SuperFlex supports testing for preeclampsia, a condition affecting between 2% and 8% of pregnancies and one that is becoming more prevalent globally owing to rising maternal age and conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Despite international guidelines recommending screening, access has traditionally been confined to high-throughput centralised laboratories.

Addressing barriers to in-house testing

The company said the system delivers three core advantages: accessible entry, through an affordable instrument cost with a single annual maintenance requirement and no reagent wastage even at low sample volumes; operational simplicity, via a user-friendly design intended to minimise training requirements while integrating with Revvity’s LifeCycle™ software for risk assessment and laboratory information management system (LIMS) data transfer; and flexible throughput, with continuous sample loading delivering results in as little as 14 minutes per test.

Expanded test menu and rollout plans

The platform includes a test menu covering both first- and second-trimester biochemical prenatal screening, offering what the company described as a versatile, cost-effective, random-access solution suited to decentralised testing settings. SuperFlex will initially be available in all markets that accept CE-marked instruments, with expansion into Asia-Pacific planned for late 2026.
