OGT expands SureSeq UDI capabilities to support 384-sample sequencing runs
OGT has announced an expansion of its SureSeq™ Universal NGS Unique Dual Index (UDI) range, increasing the number of uniquely indexed samples that can be multiplexed within a single sequencing run from 96 to 384. The expanded offering is designed to integrate with existing SureSeq workflows and software, allowing laboratories to scale sample throughput without altering established processes.
Addressing capacity constraints on existing infrastructure
The expansion responds to rising sample volumes across high-throughput laboratories seeking to increase next-generation sequencing (NGS) capacity without modifying current workflows. By broadening indexing capacity, the update is intended to allow laboratories to process a greater number of samples per run and make fuller use of high-capacity Illumina sequencing platforms, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and reducing per-sample run costs.
According to OGT, the expanded UDI capability has been designed to integrate directly into existing SureSeq workflows, removing the need for laboratories to redesign established processes in order to scale operations.
Commercial perspective
Commenting on the update, Gareth Thomson, Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations at OGT, said: “As sequencing demand continues to grow, laboratories need practical ways to increase throughput without adding complexity. Performance and application
OGT says the expanded SureSeq Universal NGS UDI offering is designed to deliver performance equivalent to its existing UDI 1-96 index sets, while supporting multiplexed sequencing through unique dual indexing across the broader 384-sample range.
The company notes that its SureSeq NGS panel portfolio, which is focused on haematological malignancies and includes the recently launched SureSeq Myeloid MRD Plus NGS Panel, is intended to give clinical research laboratories the throughput needed to generate genomic insights at scale.
As with other products in the SureSeq range, the expanded UDI offering is for research use only and is not intended for use in diagnostic procedures.
