Bio-Rad launches Vericheck ddPCR kits for QX700 platform, targeting biopharma quality control
Bio-Rad Laboratories has announced the launch of its Vericheck ddPCR™ Kit portfolio, compatible with the QX700™ System, for quality control (QC) workflows in advanced cell and gene therapy development and other biopharmaceutical applications.
The portfolio comprises five kits: Vericheck ddPCR Mycoplasma Detection, Empty-Full Capsid, Replication Competent Lentivirus, CHO Residual DNA Quantification, and E. coli Residual DNA Quantification.
The new kits extend Bio-Rad’s existing droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) platform offering, providing ready-to-use, application-specific validated kits for critical QC workflows across biopharma applications, including cell and gene therapy.
Seven-colour multiplexing supports scalable throughput
The QX700 System supports seven-colour multiplexing and can process up to 384 reactions in approximately two and a half hours, requiring minimal input volume. The platform also offers continuous loading capability and software designed to streamline data interpretation. Combined with the Vericheck Kits, the system is intended to support precise, reproducible, and faster results for product development, safety, and quality assessment.
Supporting vector characterisation and contamination detection
QC testing plays a central role in advanced therapeutic development and manufacturing, helping to ensure product safety and effectiveness. The Vericheck Kits are designed to provide validated workflows that support vector characterisation and contamination detection, including testing for replication-competent virus and quantification of residual host cell DNA.
Commenting on the launch, Stephen Kulisch, Vice President of Marketing, Digital Biology Group, Bio-Rad, said: “The expansion of our range of Vericheck ddPCR Kits offers validated workflows with unmatched precision and sensitivity, combined with the power of the QX700 platform, enabling scalable, streamlined workflows and faster time to actionable results.” He added: “By expanding the power of our QX700 platform through the development of this new portfolio of Vericheck Kits, Bio-Rad is continuing its commitment to support development of safer and more efficient advanced therapeutic development and manufacturing.”
