Clinisys releases CLS v2025.3, extending its unified laboratory platform

Clinisys, a global provider of laboratory informatics solutions, has announced the general availability of Clinisys™ Laboratory Solution (CLS) v2025.3, the latest release in its unified platform for scientific and healthcare laboratories.

The version extends CLS with enhanced configuration, expanded interoperability, integrated analytics, and governed AI capabilities, aimed at helping laboratories simplify operations, improve visibility, and scale complex workflows with confidence. The release further strengthens CLS as the laboratory’s operational system of record, supporting specimen collection, laboratory operations, scientific research, genomics, biorepository management, and governed insight within a single, scalable framework.

Governed AI within workflow-aligned operations

CLS v2025.3 connects structured laboratory data, standardised workflows, and integrated analytics within a traceable, controlled environment. Laboratories can apply intelligence directly within operational workflows, in areas such as quality monitoring, instrument coordination, and operational insight, with the aim of delivering measurable operational impact. AI within CLS is also intended to improve visibility into laboratory activity and resource utilisation, supporting cost optimisation across sampling, throughput, and resource allocation. These capabilities are designed to evolve within a governed framework that maintains transparency, compliance, and human oversight in regulated environments.

Within this framework, Clinisys launched

CLS CARE in 2025, a governed AI assistant embedded within CLS and available to customers on CLS v2025.2 and beyond. CLS CARE allows users to ask questions in plain language and receive answers grounded exclusively in validated CLS documentation, assisting teams in understanding system functionality, interpreting release changes, and extending CLS, including guidance on API capabilities and code generation for integration.

Simplified adoption and scalable deployment

The release includes enhanced installation and maintenance processes, expanded language support, and standardised configuration patterns, alongside enhancements to CLS’s cloud architecture supporting scalable deployment across laboratory environments. This is intended to reduce infrastructure and maintenance complexity while supporting performance, operational consistency, and flexibility for client-managed upgrade timing, while maintaining data security and controlled configuration.

Modernised configuration and client access

CLS v2025.3 introduces a modernised, scalable approach to test configuration, supporting laboratories in designing, adapting, and maintaining workflows with improved speed and control. The release also presents the Clinisys Gateway Module, the evolution of the LabOnline client portal, providing a refreshed, CLS-aligned experience while preserving existing ordering, permissions, and results access workflows.

Extending collection, clinical, and genomic workflows

The release extends workflows through integrated support for Clinisys Collect, applying CLS ordering logic, specimen identification, and audit controls at the point of care via a mobile application. Within the laboratory, the release delivers enhancements across clinical pathology and genomics workflows, supporting multi-sample testing, microbiology, sequencing, and adaptable configuration.

Extending CLS into scientific workflows via ELN integration

CLS v2025.3 extends platform integration into scientific environments through connectivity with the SciNote electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), connecting structured laboratory operations with scientific documentation to support continuity of data and context across experimental and operational workflows.

Expanded analytics for governed insight

The release enhances the integrated Clinisys Analytics Module, providing role-aligned visibility into operational performance and quality-related information. AI-assisted analytics are designed to help users surface patterns and insights within a controlled, explainable framework, supporting consistent, traceable reporting without reliance on separate analytics tools.
