Epigenica signs first global service partner for EpiFinder epigenomic profiling platforms

Epigenica AB, a Swedish biotechnology company specialising in epigenetic analysis tools, has entered into a formal agreement with the National Genomics Infrastructure (NGI) in Stockholm, marking a significant milestone in the commercial rollout of its EpiFinder™ platform. NGI Stockholm has become the first certified core laboratory and service provider globally to offer the EpiFinder suite, providing the broader research community with structured access to high-throughput, multiplex epigenomic profiling.

The agreement covers both principal products in the EpiFinder range. EpiFinder cNuc is designed for histone and DNA methylation profiling of circulating nucleosomes derived from liquid biopsies, while EpiFinder GenomePro supports histone and DNA methylation profiling in cells and tissues. Together, the two platforms enable multiplexed epigenomic profiling across plasma, serum, cells, and tissues, with applications in biomarker discovery through epigenetic signatures.

End-to-end workflows at scale

Under the terms of the collaboration, NGI will deliver complete end-to-end project workflows using both platforms. Services will encompass study design consultation, sample preparation, sequencing, and downstream bioinformatic analysis, offering researchers a fully supported route to reproducible, high-quality epigenomic data regardless of project scale. The arrangement positions NGI, one of Europe’s leading national centres for sequencing and genomic technologies and a technical platform within SciLifeLab, as a model deployment site for the EpiFinder technologies.

Mohamad Takwa, Chief Executive Officer of Epigenica, said: “Partnering with NGI marks the first step in scaling access to our epi-genomic platforms. By working with one of

Europe’s leading genomics infrastructures, we are not only expanding availability of EpiFinder GenomePro and EpiFinder cNUC, but also establishing a model for how these technologies can be deployed more broadly. This collaboration lays the foundation for a growing network of partners and will support more consistent, high-quality epigenomic research at scale.”

Building a certified partner network

The NGI agreement forms part of a wider commercial strategy by Epigenica to establish a global network of certified service providers capable of delivering harmonised epigenomic data to academic, biopharma, and pharmaceutical research settings. Further partner sites are expected to be announced as adoption of the EpiFinder platforms expands internationally.

Anja Mezger, Head of Unit at NGI Stockholm, commented: “We are thrilled to be the first core facility certified to deliver Epigenica’s EpiFinder technologies. These platforms fill critical needs for researchers seeking high-resolution epigenomic insights through streamlined workflows. With EpiFinder GenomePro and cNuc, we can offer even greater depth and capability within our service portfolio.”

The partnership reflects growing demand within the life sciences sector for standardised epigenomic profiling services. The ability to interrogate histone modifications and DNA methylation simultaneously, across both liquid biopsy and tissue-based sample types, addresses a recognised methodological gap in clinical and translational research settings. For clinical laboratory scientists, the availability of such workflows through an established infrastructure provider such as NGI may facilitate broader uptake of epigenomic approaches in research and, in time, diagnostic development pipelines.
