INTEGRA Biosciences introduces more sustainable ECO racks for GRIPTIPS pipette tips
INTEGRA Biosciences has introduced newly evolved ECO rack GRIPTIPS® pipette tips, designed to reduce the use of virgin plastics in liquid handling while leaving the way laboratories use the tips unchanged.
Translucent inserts widen use of recycled material
The ECO rack GRIPTIPS pipette tips are now translucent rather than fully pigmented, which makes the recycled material more suitable for a wider range of new products.
Transition to recycled PET
At the same time, the ECO rack range is gradually transitioning to recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), further reducing the need for virgin plastics and helping to close material loops. Laboratories can continue to rely on all the proven benefits of ECO racks. GRIPTIPS pipette tips are handled exactly as before, ensuring that existing liquid handling workflows can carry on without disruption.
Space-saving design
Beyond material selection, INTEGRA has also considered how much space the racks occupy after use. Empty racks can be stacked and compressed, significantly reducing their footprint before recycling. This helps laboratories to maximise the space available in their recycling containers and keeps busy workspaces clutter-free.
The racks are recommended for use with the ECO base, which provides an improved tip loading experience and a convenient solution for laboratories using GRIPTIPS pipette tips. With translucent inserts, an ongoing transition to rPET and space-saving design features, INTEGRA continues to help laboratories make their liquid handling workflows more sustainable.
INTEGRA Biosciences provides laboratory tools and consumables for liquid handling, serving customers in research, diagnostics and quality control within the life sciences and medical sectors. Its portfolio also encompasses next generation sequencing (NGS) solutions, with automated workflows and magnetic bead-based reagents for NGS sample preparation. Engineering and production teams are based in Zizers, Switzerland, and Hudson, New Hampshire, USA, and the company is ISO 9001 certified.
