Torrey Pines Scientific launches stackable chilling incubators for protein crystallography
Torrey Pines Scientific, Inc. has introduced its EchoTherm Stackable/Programmable Vibration Free Chilling Incubators, designed for protein crystallography and a broad range of clinical and life science laboratory uses.
Design and capacity
The 27-litre units are Peltier-based, eliminating the need for compressors or CFCs and ensuring vibration-free operation – a critical requirement for protein crystallography work. Up to three units may be stacked using the stacker accessory Model IN30-300.
Temperature control and programmability
The IN35 model is fully programmable, storing up to three programmes in memory and offering precise temperature ramping in both directions. Temperatures are settable from 4.0°C to 70.0°C, controllable to ±0.1°C and accurate to ±0.2°C. The unit features an RS232 I/O port for remote control and data collection, along with a digital timer and user settable Auto-Off and audible alarms.
Additional applications
Other noted applications include incubation of marine samples below room temperature, enzyme reactions and deactivations, hybridisations, ligations, storage of oocytes, and general
laboratory incubations.
Compliance and supply
Units ship with universal power supplies and are ETL, CSA, and CE compliant, supplied with a 12-month warranty.
