AMSBIO introduces SoluLyse for bacterial protein extraction

AMSBIO has introduced SoluLyse, a bacterial protein extraction reagent designed to provide efficient extraction of soluble proteins from bacterial cells without requiring sonication or freeze-thaw methods.

Non-ionic detergent formulation delivers higher yields

The reagent utilises a proprietary non-ionic detergent formulation that perforates bacterial cell walls whilst preserving protein integrity. According to AMSBIO, SoluLyse “offers an up to ten-fold increase in the yield of soluble proteins when compared with other commercial lysis reagents.”

One-step protocol suits high-throughput applications

The product employs a simple one-step protocol proven to provide results in large-scale bacterial protein extraction and high-throughput cell lysis. A recent study published in PNAS Nexus (OUP, 2025) “highlighted SoluLyse as an effective reagent for high-throughput membrane protein research, demonstrating its performance in demanding applications.”

Broad bacterial strain compatibility

SoluLyse demonstrates compatibility with bacterial strains including E. coli BL21 and works with affinity systems such as GST and His tags. The extracted proteins are suitable for affinity purification and analysis, whilst the reagent may also prepare high-purity inclusion bodies from total cell lysates.
