OGT unveils automated SureSeq NGS library preparation for Hamilton NGS STAR Line
OGT, a Sysmex Group company, has unveiled next-generation sequencing (NGS) automation capabilities across its SureSeq™ NGS portfolio, compatible with the Hamilton NGS STAR Line. Announced in Oxford, UK, on 24 September, the automated workflows are designed to help laboratories optimise resources and deliver turnaround time targets.
According to OGT, rising sample volumes are putting clinical research laboratories under pressure, and labour-intensive library preparation is a growing bottleneck to maintaining consistent throughput. Developed in close collaboration with laboratory partners and workflow specialists, the automation-enabled SureSeq workflows remove manual intervention at the most time-consuming stages of NGS library preparation and support high-throughput processing across multiple sample types.
The company describes the outcome as a faster, more consistent process for generating NGS results without additional resource burden. The development is the latest step in OGT’s ongoing investment in the SureSeq range.
Reproducibility and capacity
“NGS automation is essential for high-volume labs to get the most out of their NGS analysis,” said Adrian Smith, CEO of OGT. “By removing labour-intensive manual steps, labs can dramatically increase capacity, improve reproducibility and consistency allowing them to focus their teams where it matters most.”
Panel portfolio
The automated workflows can be combined with OGT’s range of haematological malignancy-focused SureSeq NGS panels, including the recently launched SureSeq Myeloid MRD Plus NGS Panel. OGT says the combination gives clinical research laboratories the throughput and confidence to extract clear, comprehensive genomics insights at scale. The company notes that SureSeq products are for research use only and not for use in diagnostic procedures.
