C245 ABsciex 6500 triple quad

Mass spectrometers with increased sensitivity

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Delivering increased sensitivity, the Triple Quad 6500 and QTRAP 6500 systems are next-generation mass spectrometers designed for those who need to push the limits of quantitation in complex matrices while maintaining reproducibility and robustness. With new multi-component Ion- Drive technology increasing the generation, transmission and detection of more ions, the instrument delivers sensitivity enhancements with no compromise in mass range. This is made possible by significant improvements in the ionization source through the new Turbo V source, enhancements in the ion transmission stage with the novel QJet guide, and a 20x increase to the detector dynamic range with the High Energy detector. The 6500 platform is also compatible with the novel SelexION Technology, which delivers a new dimension of selectivity in differential ion mobility spectrometry for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The 6500 series is ideally suited to a variety of applications, including drug discovery and development in regulated laboratories; peptide quantitation as well as biomarker verification in biomedical research; and clinical research in endocrinology laboratories.

Image analysis platform

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Combining fluorescence and brightfield analysis capabilities in a single platform, with precision cell modelling, Tissue IA 2.0 offers a superior solution for IHC biomarker quantification. A major challenge in research today is retrieval of quantitative, reproducible data from tissue-based IHC studies. This platform provides expert tools for researchers to extract the most from their studies. Powerful colour separation and multi-marker colocalisation functionality provides advanced insight and unbiased measurement of multiple antigen immunostaining in brightfield or fluorescent samples. Sophisticated cell modelling accurately detects and quantifies differential expression of staining in cellular compartments, providing detailed insight into cytoplasmic, membrane and nuclear biomarker localisation. The advanced dual staining capabilities enable cell cohorts at the molecular level to be identified. One marker can identify a population of interest and expression of a second can be quantified, providing exceptional analysis performance and greater understanding of slides. With high throughput batch analysis capacity, the platform will process whole slides, regions of interest or tissue microarray cores, and automatically integrate analysis results with a user’s slides.

Cytometry Software

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

An enhanced version of a highly acclaimed flow cytometry software, Kaluza Flow Cytometry Analysis Software version 1.2 adds new multiple visualisation tools and processes data very rapidly. A quick and simple interface with radial menus makes use easier. The ability to see animated data in multiple dimensions facilitates outstanding visualisation. Additionally, millions of cells can be analysed in an instant through the simultaneous use of hundreds of graphic processors. With a minimum number of clicks, a compensation matrix can be generated from a set of controls, with a choice from a variety of algorithms to generate the matrix and export the compensated data as a CSV file. Batch analysis capability enables processing of multiple files automatically with minimal input. By using gates on the Radar Plot, users can classify events and gate in n-dimensions. This function is also easy-to-use by browsing through its Gate Table, which displays the entire gating hierarchy using Excel-like functions right inside Kaluza reports. The Comparison Plot enables creation of a snapshot to compare statistics across multiple datasets with as few as two clicks. Major product enhancements include a choice of autocompensation algorithms and auto-detection of samples; automatic batch analysis of file lists or datasets; comparison plot, gate hierarchy, plot customisation, increased bivariate plot resolutions, black background and other visualisation tools; gates that are independent across multiple datasets; improvements in autocompensation and statistics calculations; and the use of user-defined expressions in data processing.

Human apoliprotein H Elisa

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Apolipoprotein H (ApoH) is a major antigen for antiphospholipid antibodies present in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which is related to venous and arterial thrombosis, fetal loss, and thrombocytopenia. Reports show that ApoH may function in blood coagulation and in the clearance of apoptotic bodies from circulation. Serum concentrations of ApoH have been found to be abnormal in patients with primary hyperlipidemia. Serum ApoH concentrations are increased in type 2 diabetes patients with microalbuminuria, suggesting a relationship with microvascular complications. ApoH was described as a major urinary protein in the urine of patients with renal tubular disorders such as Wilson´s disease, Dent´s syndrome, Fanconi´s syndrome and renal tubular acidosis. The Human ApoH ELISA kit extends BioVendor’s portfolio of diagnostic kits for lipoprotein metabolism, renal and cardiovascular disease and diabetology. Suitable for serum, plasma (EDTA, citrate, heparin) and urine samples, the 96 well-microtitre plate format is suitable for use with standard ELISA equipment.

Reagent to confirm Lupus anticoagulant

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Lupus anticoagulant is the most common cause of acquired thrombophilia. The incidence of lupus anticoagulant in the general population is 1% to 2%. Chronic lupus anticoagulant is associated with a 30% risk of venous thromboembolic disease or arterial thrombosis, including stroke and myocardial infarction, as well as with chronic spontaneous abortion. For use in the platelet neutralisation procedure (PNP), Lupus Anticoagulant Confirmation Reagent (LA-CR) is used to determine if the prolongation of an activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) is due to the presence of lupus anticoagulant. The reagent is a lyophilised preparation of phosphatidyl enhanced platelet phospholipid, the addition of which will shorten the APTT time in the presence of the lupus anticoagulant. Thus, the platelet neutralisation procedure is a valuable diagnostic test to confirm lupus anticoagulant.
